IN her observations to my views re: employment of traffic wardens,
Councillor Pam Davey makes her political point.
My concern is still with Droitwich town centre. In plain language, who pays? The punished, (the motorist), or the ratepayer; if so why are we paying twice?
We pay for our police and wardens to further the police, so where does the collective revenue go? Why should we pay to shop in Droitwich where there is little enough now to encourage shoppers?
I would like to quote the RAC:- 'UK parking is in crisis.' What is required is more parking and less charging. One billion pounds per year is collected in charges and fines.
I still believe that Droitwich Town and Wychavon District councils are seeking an easy way to collect revenue through parking and charges that does not identify with another increase in our rates.
By the way, I am not a newcomer to Droitwich.
