TWO Bromsgrove schools have been honoured in a list of education watchdog Ofsted's high achievers.
Both Aston Fields Middle School, of Drummond Road, and St John's C of E Foundation Middle School, of Watt Close, were given the thumbs up and a proud place on the 'outstanding' list of the UK's top 234 schools.
Headteacher of St John's, David Macey, was 'well-chuffed'.
He said: "We are absolutely delighted. It is a feather in the cap for all the hard work put in by our staff but really it is down to our students. It is a great credit to them."
Julia Adams, headteacher of Aston Fields, said: "We are delighted to see Aston Fields Middle School included in the Government's list of top performing schools over the past ten years.
"This success is wholly attributable to the hard work of the staff and pupils at the school.
"It is my intention to ensure our pupils continue to receive a gold standard education so that they can achieve success and fulfilment as a citizen of the 21st Century," she added.
A little further afield other district schools have also been given gold stars - Chaddesley Corbett Endowed First School, and Hagley First and Middle Schools.
The Internet-based list names all the schools that have received the inspectors top accolade and been praised as particularly successful in at least one of the chief inspector's annual reports over the last decade.
