EVERY morning I walk my three children to school from Smallwood to Hollyoaks Fields First School in Bridge Street, Batchley.
Their ages are nine, seven and five years of age.
No matter how much road safety you teach children, you can never be too careful.
What makes my blood boil as a parent is the actions of quite a lot of adults who use the pelican crossing at the bottom of the bus station at about 8.30am.
I am teaching my children to always look both ways, even when the green man is flashing. But you have adults running across when the lights are on red.
Would they rather lose their lives or lose a quarter of an hour's pay from work? I think that's easy to answer.
The reason I am writing is the other day my five-year-old son saw a couple aged in their 50s crossing on the red light.
He thought it was safe to cross and nearly walked into a minibus.
If my child had not had a coat with a hood, I dread to think what would have happened as I was able to pull him back by this.
It only takes a minute or so for the lights to change. Please be patient and help teach our children the right and safe way to cross roads.
