YOUNG people in Wythall are "getting the message", say the village's police after encouraging results from an antisocial behaviour order.
Wythall beat manager Pc Mark Townsend said since the Section 30 Order was renewed on November 1, police had dispersed 27 youngsters from the Drakes Cross and Shawfield areas of Wythall.
The order, which grants police the powers to break up gangs of youths and escort loitering youngsters home, runs alongside an alcohol-free zone which was put in place last month and covers the same areas.
Pc Townsend said: "Not one of the 27 incidents was severe enough for an arrest, which is encouraging.
"The order is enabling us to nip antisocial behaviour in the bud and people seem to be getting the message."
