COFTON Hackett B and Lickey Monarchs are still neck - and - neck at the top of the table after drawing 5-5 in the Bromsgrove and RedditchTable Tennis League Division One.

In the biggest clash of the season so far neither side could make a break at the top.

For defending champions Lickey Steve Horton (3) and Eric Hardman (2) were winners, while Coughton's Pat McCabe (2), Sasha Grohkotov and Russell Duncan were winners.

McCabe and Grohkotov then ensured a draw by winning the doubles.

Droitwich A and B also battled out a 5-5 draw, with Mark Fiddian (3) leading the way for the B team, while Graham Fisher and Tony Deighton won one match each.

Trevor Simmons and Tony Birch won two matches each and the doubles for Spa's A team.

Cofton Hackett A went down 7-2 at the hands of West Midlands Phones, with Colin Would, Don Shillingford and Roger Ellerington all winning two games each, before Ellertington and Shillingford won the doubles.

Astwood Bank were 7-3 winners over Coughton, with Matt Hartwell winning three matches.

In Division Two Barnt Green Hornets and Studley Road Nomads drew 5-5

Tony Lawton, Ivor Anderson (2) and Paul Grigg (2) were victorious for Green, but Bernie Leech (3) and Jeff Lines won their singles and the doubles for Studley.

SPSP lost 6-4 to West Midlands Phones C, with Alan Hyatt (2), Dot Sheward (2) and Ian Maybury victorious.

Lickey Rocs defeated Studley Road Terriers 8-2, with Brian Belcher (3), Bob Barlow (3) winning three matches each and the doubles for the victors.

Carter Retail were comfortable 9-1 winners over Droitwich E, with three wins for Eddy Brown and John Emmett, while Spa C trounced the D team 10-0.
