STUDENTS past and present gathered at Alcester Grammar School for the annual awards evening.
After a welcome from headteacher Iain Blaikie, the following prizes were awarded:
In Year 11, Rachel Drake and Matthew Powell shared the Mason Cup for the best GCSE results in the year - both gained 12 A*s - and service awards went to Natalie Langley and Philip Clapham (sport), Sarah Wilkes (music), Emma Salt-Bush (organisation and leadership), Emma James and Peter Wiltshire (people) and Jennifer Hawkins (drama).
The Alcester Vallet Twinning Association Shield for French was awarded to Matthew Powell.
In Year 13, William Belfield won the Bell Cup (maths), James Turner won the Laurie Brain Cup (English literature), Rosalind Preston and Laura Emmerson won the Sheppard Awards (geography and history) and Sophia Morris and Emma Peters won the Allen Awards (French and German).
Other awards went to Sarah Nickerson (chemistry), Daniel Thomas (physics), Kate Weatherall (biology), Max la Vedrine (geology), Corrina Conroy (business studies), Andrea Jelic (economics), Jade Craddock (psychology), Amy Wardle (religious studies), Charlene Mitchell (art), Emily Hartley (design technology), Jessica Elwell (home economics), Lindsey Alder (English language), Kit Prosser (theatre studies), Rohan Talbot (critical thinking), Jonathon Wiltshire (ICT), Katie Walter (music) and Alexander Weaver (electronics).
Service awards were presented to Shea Hunt and Michelle Bartlett (sport), Katharine Stock (leadership), Blain Weller (music), whole school (Yu San Chan), Meabh Felton (charity), Samantha Kibblewhite (people), Matthew Davies (sixth form) and Phoebe Mavrommatis.
