THE Bliss Gate made a good start to the year with a return to top position in Banks's Bewdley Town Darts League.
Tim Green's team beat Rising Sun 4-3, but they need to continue winning, as Waggon and Horses A, who did not have a match on Friday, are hot on their heels.
Despite Great Western captain Pete Carter scoring a season's best check out of 117, his side were beaten 4-3 by Bewdley Bowling Club.
Cock and Magpie beat White Swan 4-3, when Neil Harrison began with a win over Phil Vickery, and Tony Danks added a second success. Rob Hill pulled a game back for Swan, but two more wins saw Cock and Magpie to victory.
The match between Rising Sun A and Waggon A was postponed.
Green won the Clifford Dixon Trophy.
