VANDALS are thought to have shot at a Kidderminster church's windows with an air rifle or ball bearing gun, causing £400 damage.

The Baptist Church, Franche Road, was targeted in the attack, believed to have been carried out at around 6pm on Saturday.

Several small holes with cracks radiating outwards from them were made in two plain glass windows 4ft by 2ft on the Marlpool Place side of the church.

The incident was the latest in a series of minor vandalism and nuisance.

A police spokesman said: "One of the windows broke and the other was cracked.

"The church is used by a playgroup and has had to be thoroughly cleaned to ensure no shards of glass remained.

"Ball-bearing guns and air rifles can be dangerous in the wrong hands and we are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact Kidderminster police on 08457 444888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
