STOURPORT six-year-old Matthew Roberts saw his dreams come true when he led out his Worcester Warriors rugby heroes.

The Great Witley Infant School pupil was mascot for Worcester's recent Powergen Cup tie with London Irish at Sixways.

And although the match ended in defeat for Worcester, it has increased Matthew's desire to play professional rugby when he is older.

His father Mark said: "He got a tour of the ground and got to meet some of the players and lead the team out so it was a dream come true for him and his dad.

"We've got season tickets and go every week so I don't know who was more proud, him or me."

Matthew has already starting playing rugby for Bromyard juniors and was recently named most improved player at a training camp at Sixways.

Since Worcester have made it to the top flight, Matthew, an ardent England fan has managed to get the autographs of Martin Johnson and Lawrence Dallaglio.
