STOURPORT felt hard done by with the margin of defeat at Bredon Star after going down 24-5 in North Midlands South Two.

A second half try from fly half Rob Humphries was all they had to show for their trip to the league leaders.

Bredon started off fast and despite a brief spell when Stourport dominated but could not convert their possession into points it was the hosts who took control.

In the first half alone, Stourport missed three vital penalties which could have changed the outcome of the game.

Bredon meanwhile took a slender 3-0 lead into the break after scoring a penalty on the stroke of half time. In the second period the home side had a new lease of life and racked up a further 21 points through three converted tries.

And although Stourport refused to throw in the towel, the most they could muster was a well-taken try from Humphries.

Stourport, who were weakened by injuries and players out of position, will be hoping to bounce back when they host Birmingham Barbarians in a friendly at 2pm on Saturday.

The seconds lost 51-5 to Stourbridge Lions with Andy Foster scoring their consolation try. They travel to Hereford thirds on Saturday.
