CHADDESLEY Corbett will be hoping to put their first weekend of action in 2005 firmly behind them after defeats for the firsts and the seconds.
The firsts' 17-6 setback at Bromyard meant they were unable to improve upon their mid-table position in North Midlands South Two.
Bromyard had the benefit of a strong wind during the first half and used it well to open up a 10-0 lead with a converted try and a penalty.
After the break, Chaddesley were confident of pulling back deficit with the elements in their favour and got to within four points thanks to two Nick White penalties.
However, Bromyard's defence was well organised and with Chaddesley pressing for more points, the hosts hit them with another converted try to win 17-6.
The seconds suffered a heavy 43-5 defeat to their Bromyard counterparts whose better all round play proved the difference.
Chaddesley held their own for long periods and scored through a push over try by the returning Jon Ives.
But with the three week break from action and numerous changes in the backline, they lacked enough quality and energy to cope with Bromyard.
On Saturday the firsts host Claverdon in a friendly, while the seconds are away at Five Ways with both matches kicking off at 2.15pm.
