Edwardians 16pts, Evesham 3
EVESHAM travelled to Solihull to face their old rivals currently lying third in the Midlands Four West (South).
With the elements in their favour, the visitors started the stronger and took the game to the home side from the kick-off.
Intelligent positional play from half-backs Chris Evis and Tom Archer meant that Edwardians were always on the back foot.
Time after time, Evesham pounded the home line, but they were unable to breach a resolute defence.
Luke Matthews, Dave Scott and the returning James Duncan were having a tremendous first half but the only points Evesham could muster was an Archer penalty.
They knew the second half was going to be a battle against the elements but the forwards were in pulsating mood and took on their bigger opponents.
Evesham went close to crossing the line through Evis, Rick Taylor and captain Gary Diston but no more points came their way.
Edwardians, meanwhile, put together some good play and scored two tries courtesy of defensive lapses.
A penalty and a drop goal left the visitors trailing 16-3 and that's how it finished.
Evesham are scheduled to be at home on Saturday to Harborne but that fixture could be altered as a cup fixture might take precedence.
