Bromyard 14pts,

Evesham U-11/12 14

EVESHAM'S young players were on their travels last Sunday when they started the new year with a draw.

They were faced with a not only quite a large pack but a pitch that was definitely not one for open flowing rugby.

The visitors started well with some excellent pick up and drives by the forwards and backs and Bromyard found themselves under concerted pressure.

Evesham failed to land the score their play deserved and then conceded against the run of play after more lapses in concentration.

Heads didn't drop and, from the restart, more pressure was put on the home line that finally brought an equalising score when Andrew Uncles ripped himself and the ball out of the maul and cantered over. James Cocks added the conversion.

The pressure continued well into the second half and again paid dividends when Jordan Nobes powered over and Cocks again added the extra points.

In terms of possession and pressure Evesham were clearly the winners but Bromyard were gifted a late try in the dying moments and the visitors had to settle for a share of the spoils.

There's training on Sunday from 10.30am at the club, while Wedn-esday night sessions have been set aside for Under-9, 10, 11 and 12s. Ring 01386 422230 for more details on the latter two age groups.
