L SPITERI'S letter of Monday, January 3, is a further example of his ability to turn fiction into fact. It assumes that my letter accused him of writing fiction on all the subjects he raised in his letter of Monday, November 29.
That is not true. My letter dealt only with his statement that UK re-armament was the cause of The Second World War and gave him the true causes of that war, based on first-hand experience and on historical facts that can be easily verified.
I also said that without re-armament and Churchill, Britain would have become a part of Hitler's Third Reich.
This was not hypothetical as Mr Spiteri claims. It was based on logical reasoning and on historical and indisputable facts.
However, in view of the comments in his most recent letter, I will deal in future letters with all the other points raised by Mr Spiteri in previous letters.
I M JARVIS,
Bevere, Worcester.
