THREE Wyre Forest schools have made the list of the UK's top performers over the past 10 years.

Kidderminster's Franche First, Stourport's Burlish Park First and Chaddesley Corbett First were included on the internet list of "particularly successful schools" drawn up by Ofsted.

They were included on a list of 2,291 UK schools which have been praised by Ofsted in the last decade. A team of Ofsted inspectors visits schools about once every six years.

Val Weddell-Hall, headteacher at Franche First, said: "Our first Ofsted report was very good and the second was excellent. We are delighted. We are grateful to have wonderful support from Worcestershire LEA, wonderful staff and parents and fantastic children and a wonderful community in which to work."

Tim Ireson, head at Chaddesley Corbett First, said: "We are obviously delighted to once again have our profile raised as a result of this. Essentially, it is a result of good teamwork and hard work."

Headteacher at Burlish Park First, Rachel Higgins, said: "We are pleased that the hard work of everyone involved in the school has been recognised through this achievement. The school is successful because staff, parents, governors and children work together."

Great Witley Primary School and Haybridge High School, which takes Wyre Forest children, were also on the list.
