WELFORD was the venue for the first outing of 2005 and it proved a hugely successful one after a 128-92 victory over the Worcester-shire Vice-Presidents.
The hosts led 29-21 after five ends only for the gap to be narrowed five ends later when South Warwickshire led 52-45.
The next five ends proved crucial in the final count as the visitors could only muster 19 more shots compared to 41 for the home side.
The highest winning rink belonged to the quartet of Peter Hagan, Keith Ogilvie, Bob Hall and John Willis, with Ian Wilkins, David wood and Geoff Sweet the other successful skips.
