A BUTCHERY demonstration for local sheep producers highlighting the retail price difference between lean and overfat lambs will be the focus of a meeting at Worcester Market next week.
The event, on Thursday January 20 at 7pm, is being held in association with local auctioneers McCartneys.
The demonstration will be given by a local butcher and will draw attention to ways in which lamb producers can avoid price penalties for over fat lambs and reduce production costs.
The event will also cover a range of other sheep topics, with speakers addressing the impact of CAP reform on the English lamb sector, and better breeding topics.
Farmers can also get advice on other aspects of their lamb marketing and pick up their free copies of lamb breeding manuals.
Next week will be the first of a series of meetings which will run through to March 2005, and they are being held at livestock markets and other venues across England.
