A crash in which a 49-year-old Evesham woman was badly injured in the North Cotswolds last Friday is to be reconstructed by police this weekend.

The woman motorist was badly injured in a collision with an agricultural drill near Saintbury, on the B4632, and is currently in a critical condition in Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham.

In collision

She was driving a silver Ford Ka along the B4632 towards Willersey at around 8.10am when the vehicle was in collision with a combination drill being towed by a green John Deere tractor.

Police accident investigators are hoping that they will have a clearer picture of what happened during the collision after running the reconstruction.

"We have hired a car similar to the one driven by the woman, to use during our reconstruction of this incident," said Insp Mike Jacka, of Cirencester police.

"We're hoping it will allow us to determine the chain of events that led up to the crash and build a picture of what the injured party would have seen."

Officers are keen to hear from other drivers who may have seen a drill of the type involved in the accident being moved around the Saintbury area.

"Large agricultural drills are a very distinctive sight when seen on the highway," said Insp Jacka.

"We're keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a drill of this type being towed along roads in the Saintbury area in the last few weeks."

The reconstruction will take place on the B4632 at Saintbury at 7.30am on Sunday January 16. It will last approximately one hour.

Motorists passing through the area are asked to seek an alternative route during this time.
