The floorboards of Colwall Village Hall will be put to the test during an evening of foot-stomping dance.
A ceilidh is on Saturday, January 29 at 7.30pm with caller Sheila Main-waring and band Malthouse Passage.
The band is named after an alleyway in London and featured in 1960s film, The Plank.
Its members are Dave Young on melodeon, Cathy Rollo, clarinet, Lisa Warbuton, hammered dulcimer and percussion, and Jan Lucas, mandola and melodeon.
The band plays a mix of traditional, continental and Scandinavian music, from jigs and reels to French waltzes, all composed by band members.
Organiser Adrian Mealing said: "We do enjoy our ceilidhs in the village, it's an opportunity to get together the hip shakers and ankle movers."
He said village dances had almost stopped, until a ceilidh at a wedding reception reminded everyone they are great fun.
"Tickets are shifting well already and we're sure it will be a sell-out on the night," said Mr Mealing.
"Malthouse Passage are a local band and caller Sheila Mainwaring is a well known personality here, she knows some unusual dances and gets people to tackle some really ambitious stuff."
He added the event is suitable for all ages, and he hoped people would bring their children along.
"I'm sure this will become a regular event in the village and there will be a couple more to look forward to this year."
Tickets are £10 for adults, £5 children from 01684 540366.
