MALVERN Ladies continued their run in the Wyvern Cup with a comfortable win at Langland Stadium.
MALVERN LADIES 3, DROITWICH LADIES 0
Malvern opened the scoring in the fifth minute after a good exchange of passes between Ella Buckle, Stacie Doyle and Sam Shail found Polly Bounds on the edge of the box to fire into the roof of the net.
Malvern put together some neat passing moves with Sam Shail and Kate Boulton making some good runs down the wings and putting in some telling crosses. Emily Prosser and Natalie Holmes were unlucky not to score.
Constant pressure brought a second goal when Stacie Doyle made space for herself and fired a low drive wide of the keeper.
Malvern battled against a strong second-half wind but still created several chances. Emily Prosser's determination paid off when she hit a right foot volley low into the corner to put the game out of Droitwich's reach.
Player of the match Natalie Holmes worked tirelessly in midfield and Droitwich rarely troubled home keeper Jenny Shail.
Malvern resume league fixtures on Sunday when they make the trip to FC Phoenix, kick-off 2pm at Hereford Leisure Centre.
