The Malvern music scene has dramatically changed since the halcyon days of the 60s and 70s when it was possible to see a plethora of quality bands such as The Who, Hawkwind, the ELO, ELP and many more.
Take a look at the meagre offerings today, the occasional tribute band at the theatres for around £30 a go, not even a glimpse of a well-known musical name and now - the final nail in the coffin - the closure of the Con Club.
Surely such a venue that hosts a variety of events that transcend numerous generation gaps should be embraced and improved rather than being discarded along with what seems to have been a more entertaining past?
It acts as a means of promoting all forms of creativity, especially alternative-music, from a grass roots level, therefore making it vital to this town's community.
