IN proposing its plans for the "regeneration" of Great Malvern, Malvern Hills District Council has unfortunately failed to consider the existing users of the premises.
No-one has heard a desire to move coming from the Post Office and still more so, the situation of the former Conservative Club is becoming untenable as a result of the Post Office's failure to grant another five year lease.
The Great Malvern Club now provides the Fringe and others with a space to put on plays, gigs, theatre, stand-up acts and concerts of all kinds where noise complaints are unknown. In Malvern we have a wealth of diverse talent and the Great Malvern Club provides us with the opportunity to nurture and appreciate it.
These events appeal to all age groups and we must not lose another precious venue which all the people in Malvern can enjoy.
Coun Malcolm Victory, (director, Malvern Fringe Arts), Wells Road, Malvern.
