A FINAL decision on plans to site a statue commemorating the Morgan family on land belonging to Malvern Hills Conservators was due to be made last night (Thursday).
Morgan sports car enthusiast Roger Moran wants a statue of HFS Morgan and his son Peter on Malvern Link Common, opposite the site of the factory where the cars were first built.
The site is now occupied by the Santler Court retirement development.
In November, the Conservators' public relations committee voted against the proposals and was recommending refusal to the board.
Members felt they had a legal obligation to prevent common being built on as it was protected land and Conservators were charged by an act of parliament to keep it as open land.
