KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have the ultimate test of their recovery under Stuart Watkiss tomorrow -- stringing two wins together for the first time this season.
The club picked up five victories in Coca-Cola League Two before last Saturday's 2-1 triumph over Lincoln City but have slipped to defeat in their next fixture every single time.
And, when facing Macclesfield Town at Moss Rose, Harriers search for a first double of the season following a 1-0 success over their former non-league rivals at Aggborough in mid-September.
Watkiss has made a further addition to his squad in time for the game with Doncaster Rovers' John McGrath, who played twice as a youngster for Aston Villa, joining until the end of the season.
McGrath will most likely fill the left-wing role which has been vacant since the departure of Pedro Matias though non-contract signing Dave Morrison provides additional competition on the flank.
However, they face a battle to waltz straight into the team after impressive midfield displays from Dean Keates, Tom Bennett, Lee Jenkins and match-winner Simon Russell against Lincoln.
Watkiss said: "We out-Lincoln-ed Lincoln if you like with the way we battled and with the quality we showed at times, so we know that we can do it.
"But that's one game and I keep stressing that we haven't put a run of two or three results together all season.
"It's absolutely imperative that we leave Macclesfield with something. That's the challenge for the lads."
Watkiss was heartened after watching Cambridge United draw 0-0 at Mansfield Town on Tuesday and felt Harriers at least have more to offer than the bottom-of-the-table outfit who they face in two weeks.
Kidderminster are still four points behind cash-strapped Rushden and Diamonds with a far worse goal difference and really need to demonstrate their improved away form tomorrow.
A 2-0 win at Oxford United, followed by a tight 2-1 defeat at play-off hopefuls Leyton Orient, has gone some way to boosting confidence on the road.
Macclesfield have challenged for the top seven under Brian Horton but their efforts have stuttered in recent weeks following two losses in a row, 2-1 at home to Chester City and 3-1 at Darlington.
This week, they signed centre-half Dave Morley, a former team-mate of McGrath's at Doncaster, in a five-figure deal to replace loan signing Greg Strong who has returned to Boston United.
Horton also shook up his squad by transfer listing experienced midfielder Tommy Widdrington and defender Michael Welch, and will be looking for a reaction against Harriers.
Forward Gary Birch and Bennett, who both gave improved displays for the Aggborough men against Lincoln, missed training with knocks but are expected to be fit.
