THE girls' team at Colwall Cricket Club has been given a boost by the Lord's Taverners who have awarded them £500 in order to pay for extra net facilities.
This team has been up and running for three years and the club already have three County representatives, including Dee Lannie, who also turns out for the club's fourth team in the Worcestershire League.
Ex-chairman Alistair Smith has been the driving force behind the development of girls cricket at Colwall and a lot of the gratitude must go down to him.
If any local girls are interested in joining the club they can contact Alistair on 01684 563047.
