RICHARD Chaming's letter headlined "Political power bloc that is ignoring people's will" (Letters, Tuesday, January 4) was excellent. Europe is an abomination of democratic accountability, just like our own electoral system.

Most of us voted against Labour in the last General Election, but because of our thoroughly rotten electoral system Labour received a landslide majority - one to which they weren't entitled.

Had the seats in parliament accurately reflected the number of votes cast, for each political party, Labour would have been a minority party.

And that fact explains why both the Labour and Conservative Parties are determined to cling on to our thoroughly rotten electoral system. It guarantees them power.

The Labour, Liberal Democrat, and Conservative Parties (the LibLabCon) are absolutely determined to shove this country into Europe.

That half of our nation's people are opposed to ever being in Europe is, in political terms, irrelevant.

The ruling junta of our political parties have decided that they want to be in Europe, so what the rest of their party members think, and what the rest of the country thinks, has become increasingly irrelevant.
