THREE weeks on from the Boxing Day tsunami disaster, and every day still brings fresh horrors.
Only yesterday, more than 5,000 more deaths were added to the ever-increasing toll as rescue workers finally reached what remained of a remote Indonesian community.
And for those left behind, the daily struggle continues.
In the midst of their destroyed communities, people are attempting to rebuild their lives while coping with the loss of their loved ones.
Aid is, of course, getting through. The generosity of people across the globe - and especially here in the UK - has reached amazing levels. Billions of pounds has been raised so far - but so much more is needed.
The Evening News is today starting a massive campaign to help rebuild these people's lives and livelihoods.
Our Tsunami - Funding a Future campaign, in conjunction with Worcestershire County Council, the CrownGate shopping centre, Chamber of Commerce and the Cathedral Plaza shopping centre, is very straightforward.
We are supplying 15,000 aquamarine "wishbands" for people to wear and show their support for the survivors.
All we are asking is a minimum donation of £1.50. If each one is sold for that amount, that will mean an extra £22,500 to help rebuild these shattered lives.
The survivors need a helping hand - so wear your wishband with pride.
