TOM Moody says Worcestershire will be 'totally focused' when they face a Herefordshire side containing three former Test stars in the Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy second round clash at Luctonians' Kingsland ground tomorrow (10.45).
Aravinda de Silva, Franklyn Rose and Martin McCague will take on the County in a bid to pull off a giant-killing victory against last season's beaten finalists.
Thirty-eight-year-old de Silva was Sri Lanka's greatest batsman and longest-serving international before calling time on his record-breaking career a year ago.
New Road director of cricket Moody said: "He's a quality player, but Aravinda is out of the game now. I'm not sure what type of cricket he's played recently, but he's certainly a distinguished player and we'll have to bowl well to him like we'll have to bowl well to any of their players."
Former England paceman McCague played alongside de Silva at Kent, while ex-West Indian Test fast bowler Rose took 5-19 in Herefordshire's 126-run first round victory over Oxfordshire at Banbury.
Moody said: "Rose has been around the leagues and county cricket for a number of years. We've played against him and we know he's a useful performer. Again we'll have to deal with what he has to dish up come tomorrow."
He added: "It's a big match for us. Herefordshire have given a couple of teams a bit of a shake-up in the past. We are aware that they will be strong and keen, particularly being local to us. But we'll be totally focused on doing what we do well and we'll be out there to beat them."
McCague said: "We'll definitely not be favourites, but it all comes down to one game and if they have a bit of an off day you never know. We shocked Middlesex here a few years ago and we'll need to use that as our inspiration. We've beaten a county and who is to say we won't do it again."
Herefordshire beat Middlesex by three wickets at Kingsland in 2001 to book a fourth round trip to New Road where they lost by seven wickets following an unbeaten 101 from Graeme Hick.
The winners of tomorrow's match will be at home to Derbyshire or Somerset on Saturday, May 29.
