STEVE Rhodes is to captain Worcester-shire for the rest of the season.
The long-serving wicketkeeper took over the reigns after Ben Smith quit the role midway through last week's Frizzell County Championship Division One match against Northamptonshire at New Road.
Rhodes, who retires at the end of the season, also led the side in last Sunday's totesport League Division Two victory over Middlesex at Lord's.
Smith, the former Leicestershire star, said he decided to stand down as captain because he wanted to concentrate on his own form and help the County to success for the rest of the season.
