MRS Gill Hadgetts was presented with a cheque for £1,000 after being the last winner of the old-style Bromsgrove District Council lottery. It was the last draw before a new bingo style was introduced.
BROMSGROVE juvenile court magistrates heard how two Rubery youths, who embarked on a series of thefts, had been influenced by three adults. The youths, both aged 15, stole £53 from Waseley Hills High School and allowed themselves to be carried in a stolen vehicle. The pair were fined £20 each and given conditional discharges for two years by the magistrates.
A GROUP of young people spent the week at Hanbury Hall, near Bromsgrove, to carry out renovation work. Youngsters from the Acorn camp group did a number of tasks including, bricklaying, gardening and cleaning. In return the group got to stay in the old house. Mr Bruce Edwards, camp leader, said: "Acorn camps give young people the chance to spend time in the country and to meet like minded people and do work for the National Trust.
