REDDITCH taxi drivers are boycotting a potholed road because they say the "bumpy ride" is ruining their cabs.
Taxi firms implemented the ban on Marlpit Lane, Headless Cross, after being faced with large repair bills for damaged vehicles.
"We are refusing to drive down the road until it is made safe for our cars," said Mr William Smith, taxi owners' association chairman.
"Suspensions have collapsed, tyres ripped and punctured and exhausts have dropped off because it is such a bumpy ride through all the potholes."
Redditch District Council and Development Corporation chiefs have both denied responsibility for the unadopted road.
A corporation spokesman said Marlpit Lane was a private road and owned by the householders.
He said: "It is the responsibility of the householders to carry out repairs. They are the legal owners."
