THE view that General Elections were decided by women, rather than men, was expressed by Mr Lester George, the prospective Labour candidate for the parliamentary division of Bromsgrove, when opening a Christmas fair at Washford Mills recreation room, Redditch, on Saturday.
The event was organised by ladies of the north-west section of the Redditch Labour Party and was in aid of party funds.
Having paid tribute to the women, Mr George said, regardless of how men talked about politics, General Elections were decided by women.
As an example, he mentioned how the last election had been won for the Conservative Party by the Housewives' League.
