HELPFUL youngsters packed bags of shopping as part of a summer challenge to encourage children to be good citizens.
Friends gave shoppers in Stourport a hand and raised £445 for Kemp Hospice as part of West Mercia Constabulary's Lifestyle programme.
The three chums, who attend Burlish Middle School, spent a day at the Co-op in Lombard Street. They have named their group Five Alive.
Donna Phillips, whose daughter, Victoria, was a member of the group, said: "The children were pleasantly surprised how much money was donated.
"It was really nice. Stourport people are very generous," she added.
The Lifestyle projects is open to children aged 12 to 16 and is aimed at getting young people involved with projects which benefit their communities.
The winning team will be treated to an activity holiday in France.
