REDDITCH manufacturers are to be asked their opinions about instituting apprentices or schemes of training for girls and, if so, in what particular crafts or occupations.
The investigation is to be made by youth employment officer Mrs WD Savery, of the Youth Employment Committee.
The committee discussed the position and Mrs Davies suggested that one way of making industry more attractive to girls, giving them equal opportunities with boys, and making them of value to the industry, would be to consider the idea of craft apprenticeship, as for boys.
