A MAN has been arrested in connection with the death of a female pedestrian on the B4085 at Cleeve Prior, near Evesham.
The woman was involved in a collision with a white Vauxhall Midi Merit van near Little Meadows, Evesham Road, on Monday at around 9.30pm. She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
A teenage girl, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the collision, was taken by ambulance to the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch, where her condition is said to be comfortable.
The coroner for Worcestershire, Victor Round, ordered a post mortem to be carried out yesterday. He is expected to open and adjourn an inquest at Worcestershire County Coroner's Court tomorrow.
Evesham Police are now appealing for witnesses and information.
"We are keen to hear from anyone who was driving or walking in the area just before or at the time of the collision. We hope one or more members of the community can come forward and help us with our enquiries," said a police spokesman.
Anyone with information should call 08457 444 888, quoting 71E/170105.
