TWO Redditch Swimming Club youngsters had a swimtastic night after meeting a few British Olympic stars at a national awards evening in Stratford
Nine-year-old Daniel Strange and Michaela Britt, 10, met Olympic bronze medallist Steve Parry at Stratford Leisure Centre before moving on to the Moat House to pick up the Amateur Swimming Association's top ASA-affiliated club in the country.
Redditch Swimming Club's Beverly Nice said: "The award presented to Redditch Swimming Club represents a tremendous honour for this long-established club and for the town."
Both Daniel and Michaela also got the chance to swim with Olympians Rebecca Cooke, Adrian Turner, Andrew Lindsay and Sarah Bailey in a fun session overseen by ex-Olympian Helen Slatter.
Demonstrations by Olympic diver Tony Ally and synchronised swimmers Tia Randall and Louise Woolley then concluded the afternoon before the young swimmers and parents Neal Strange and Chris Britt met up with further swimmers including Sharron Davies, Darren Mew and Marie Hardiman at the awards ceremony.
Even compere for the even Central TV's Charlie Neil was singing the Redditch club's praises by calling Redditch the "best club in the country".
