KEITH Rostill missed a penalty as Alvechurch tasted their eighth away defeat in the Alliance this season at Quorn losing 3-0.
With the sides level Rostill stepped up but the Quorn keeper saved and to rub salt into wounds Joe Jonas went on to score midway through the half to give the home side the advantage.
To make things worse Alvechurch midfielder Andy Dodds was then given an early bath as he was sent off for a second bookable offence.
After the break two late breakaway goals scuppered any chance of a 'Church comeback against a team Alvechurch manager Peter Frain best footballing team in the league.
"We absolutely battered them in the second half but we've got nothing to show for it," said Frain.
"Who knows if we hadn't had Dodds sent off what might have happened, it was a very harsh decision to send him off," he added.
The Churchmen have an awful fixture list for the coming month when they play all five of the top clubs in the Alliance.
"The best thing to come out of it will probably when it's over and we can look back on it," added Frain.
Alvechurch have also brought in Hednesford Town midfielder Shane Benjamin
