Alcester A 22

Birmingham Medics 2nds 12

ALCESTER got a much-needed boost ahead of a crucial league encounter against fellow strugglers Old Wheats with a 10-point friendly victory over a second string Birmingham Medics side.

Centre Tom Heneghan scored and converted the first try of the game before ten minutes but missed a penalty opportunity to increase his side's lead.

Alcester eventually increased their lead again when scrum half Nobby Moreland, making his first start in over a month, darted over.

With Alcester's squad of 23 players the rolling substitutions started and soon upset the home team letting Medics flanker run over for their first of the afternoon.

Soon after Medics doubled their try tally as their loose head prop bulldozed through two tackles to score and level the game.

After the break Heneghan split the posts with a penalty goal to give Alcester a slight advantage.

Robbie Parker, who had switched from the wing to scrum half made the game safe as he weaved his way through the visiting defence before touching down.

Heneghan rounded off the scoring, and capped a good afternoon for Alcester.
