AS the December meeting took the form of entertainment by Tony Chipp and Anne Bucknall, it was decided to hold the Christmas party celebration at this meeting.
Members met in the Community Centre on January 5 at 2pm. During the usual business, the members who subscribe to Home and Country were asked if they had received their copies, as this is the first month when the magazine will be posted directly to their homes.
None had yet arrived, and members were interested to hear that the H and C secretary had been sent a form to be returned to headquarters. It was agreed to give the post office another week, and then the form will be used if the magazines had still not arrived.
The party started with a general knowledge quiz, then members pulled crackers. A splendid tea of assorted sandwiches, tea bread and trifles, provided by some of the committee, was then enjoyed with cups of tea and the meeting ended at 4pm.
