THE new headteacher at a town school has vowed to build on current success.
Helen Heder was appointed the new head of Fairfield First School, in Stourbridge Road, at the start of the month.
"I want to build on the successes the school has achieved," she said. "It has already been given a national award for caring for the environment and I just want to continue to take the school forward."
Helen, who is originally from Wheaton Aston in Staffordshire, now lives in Norton, Stourbridge. Previously, she was the deputy headteacher at a school in Bewdley.
"The position is very interesting and the staff have been very supportive and friendly. The pupils have also impressed me with their attitude.
"I feel very privileged to teach here. It is a very good school with a lot of strengths in many areas. I am aiming to keep the school moving in the right direction," she said.
