A SIZZLING Spa super chef is cooking up a storm in a national catering competition.
Josephine Banks, a pupil at Whitford Hall and Dodderhill School, will represent Worcestershire in the regional final of Springboard UK FutureChef 2005 contest.
Josephine qualified by winning the local heats at Worcester College of Technology last November. She had to prepare a two-course meal, consisting of a main course and dessert, in one and a-half-hours, with a budget of £7.50.
If she wins the regional heat later this month she will go through to the grand final at London's Westminster Kingsway College in March. The aim of the FutureChef contest is to promote imagination and excellence in school cookery and encourage youngsters to pursue a career in the catering industry.
Pupils at Whitford Hall and Dodderhill School in Crutch Lane study food technology every week from the age of 12 before deciding whether to take it at GCSE level.
