ENTHUSIASTIC residents who are brimming with bright ideas are being urged to join a fundraising friendship group.
Faith Harper is recruiting new members to her group, which raises much-needed funds for the British Institute of Brain Injured Children (BIBIC).
Faith has a seven-year-old son, Josh, who was first diagnosed with a brain malformation at the age of three. The full extent of his injuries is not yet known and he has to go to Birmingham Children's Hospital for regular assessment.
BIBIC offers practical help to families caring for children with brain disabilities who are affected by social, sensory, communication, motor and learning difficulties.
Josh and his mum have received a wealth of support from the national charity, which inspired Faith to set up a fundraising friendship group.
The newly-formed club already has three members, who have been generating money for BIBIC as well as raising its profile.
"I am really enjoying the friends' group. It has brought me a new lease of life.
"The atmosphere at the group is informal and fun and I look forward to meeting other people who, like me, want something extra out of life and a chance to give something back to our community," said Faith, of Padgewell Hill.
"It is great fun, rewarding and sociable."
She said the group is open to anyone who is prepared to spend a little time helping raise funds for BIBIC.
Louisa Trunk, BIBIC's regional development officer, added: "We are a non-governmental-funded organisation and therefore rely on our supporters to keep providing our essential services to families with a child with neurological difficulties.
"I am looking forward to meeting lots of new faces as the Droitwich group grows, and I am sure that all those involved will have a lot of fun."
