A WELCOMING new group has been launched to help families who are part of the Droitwich Spa Home-Start scheme widen their social circle.
Home-Start held it's first monthly drop-in session at the WANDS Centre on Westlands last Tuesday.
Lyn Mason, who runs the town's Home-Start initiative, said the sessions were an ideal opportunity for like-minded people to meet.
"Everyone will be made welcome and it is a chance to have a friendly chat over a cup of tea, with toys for all the children," said Lyn.
"We are so pleased to have this facility for our families and hope it will be well supported."
The sessions will run on the first Tuesday of every month, from 12.45 to 2.45pm.
The next one is on Tuesday, February 8.
The Home-Start scheme is a voluntary organisation offering support, friendship and practical advice to families at home with children under five.
Lyn is looking for new volunteers to visit families in Droitwich Spa.
The next 10-week 'preparation for volunteers' starts on February 23.
The course takes place one morning a week and, on completion, volunteers will be carefully matched with a suitable family.
Lyn added: "Home-Start is all about one parent helping another, being alongside and equal to them."
