PUPILS and teachers at Woodfield Middle School have been showing their support for the tsunami appeal and have launched a fund-raising campaign.
The school was visited by Sarah Barber and Tony Dineen, who live and work on the Thai island of Koh Phi Phi.
Miss Barber and Mr Dineen, who run Princess Divers, came to the school to share their experiences of their much loved island, before and after the tragedy.
They were lucky enough to be in England when the tsunami struck, completely destroying the island they have made their home.
In the aftermath of the disaster, the couple have set up a fund-raising appeal called Friends of Phi Phi to help raise money for the island's survivors.
They will be returning to Koh Phi Phi within the next couple of months to try to help rebuild their shattered community.
The money raised by the Woodfield pupils will go directly towards the provision of the medical and building supplies that are so desperately needed.
Throughout the rebuilding effort, Miss Barber and Mr Dineen will provide regular updates so the pupils can find out exactly how their money is being used and the difference their generosity is making to the lives of those left devastated by the disaster.
