AN angry worker at an Alvechurch company told contractors to "clear off" neighbouring land when they turned up to erect a mobile telephone mast.
And Paul Theakston, of Automotive Garage Equipment, Lye Bridge Business Park, said he would continue to block contractors from crossing the park to install a 22.5m T-Mobile phone mast next door on Severn Trent land.
Mr Theakston said the proposed mast would be only 25 yards from the business park, which is next to Alvechurch Football Club, off Redditch Road.
He said he and other business park companies were not officially notified of the new mast, so would refuse the phone company's contractors AWA from accessing the proposed site.
AWA last arrived on Tuesday but left when workers told them to go.
Mr Theakston said: "They have already done enough damage by bulldozing a tree down - so we told them to clear off.
"It's an outrage. I can't believe it's allowed to go ahead but we'll carry on resisting them at all costs."
But Bromsgrove District Council's head of development control, David Hammond, said plans for the mast had been given the go-ahead and would continue, regardless of workers' attempts to stall progress.
He said a site notice had been displayed and Severn Trent Water had been informed.
Mr Hammond added: "Although we received 14 letters of objection to the proposals, plans satisfy the necessary regulations so we're powerless to stop it going ahead."
