TWO people were taken to hospital after a serious accident in Redditch last Wednesday.
Two vehicles, a red Volvo estate and a red Citroen Berlingo van, collided on Old Forge Drive near the junction with Howard Road.
The driver of the Volvo, a man in his 70s, was taken to the Alexandra Hospital with head and chest injuries.
The passenger in the Volvo, a woman in her 80s, was also taken to hospital for checks but was not thought to be injured.
A large dog travelling in the back of the Volvo was also unhurt and was looked after by police dog wardens. The van driver was not hurt.
The road was closed until 5.45pm while the vehicles were recovered and the road was cleared.
Police are appealing for information after the collision, which happened in the Park Farm area at about 3.10pm.
Pc Paul Downes, from the Road Policing Unit, said: "We're trying to establish exactly what happened and are appealing to anyone who witnessed this collision to get in touch on 08457 444 888."
