ALCESTER organisations may be losing out by not applying for grants from Alcester Town Council.
Council clerk Derrick Ward said he had been forced to extend the December deadline for applications due to lack of interest, despite extensive advertising.
He said the council had received just 14 applications, 10 fewer than they received the previous year.
Mr Ward said: "I don't understand why we've had so few applications. Maybe people are better off financially this year.
"But they may be losing out - the grants are small but can help organisations along a little."
The deadline has been extended to Monday, January 24.
Organisations interested in applying can attend a 7pm meeting on that day at Globe House, Priory Road.
