KIDDERMINSTER Harriers boss Stuart Watkiss will be taking time out of his busy schedule to officially open a matchstick modelling club in Droitwich.
Club founder Terry Hickman is hoping dozens of people will turn up at the launch of the club at 8.40am on Thursday, February 3 at the Community Centre in Heritage Way.
"I'm so grateful to Mr Watkiss for agreeing to open the club, I know he is very busy, especially on Thursdays," he said. "It would be nice to see a crowd of people turn out."
Mr Hickman has decided to go ahead with the club despite no donors coming forward to offer help with supplying materials.
"I will just have to fund it out of my own pension for the time being," said Mr Hickman, of Court Close, Hanbury.
Mr Hickman's full-scale model of a Victorian lamppost made from matchsticks will be on show at the launch of the club along with other models.
