A WOMAN pedestrian who died after being in collision with a van at Cleeve Prior, near Evesham, on Monday, has been named as Menty Smith.
The 48-year-old lived at Cleeve Prior Caravan Park and an inquest into her death is due to open at Worcestershire Coroner's Court later today.
A teenage girl received non-life-threatening injuries in the collision and remains in the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch, following surgery.
Police have revealed that the driver of a white Vauxhall Midi Merit van has been charged with causing her death while under the influence of alcohol and failing to stop, which occurred on the B4085 at about 9.35pm.
The driver, who was not injured in the collision and has not been named by police, has been bailed to appear before Worcester magistrates on Tuesday, January 25.
A spokesman for Evesham Police said they were renewing their appeal for witnesses.
