MOBILE POLICE STATION: The mobile Police Station will be visiting Willersey on February 9 from 9.45am to 10.45am. Residents are reminded that with the mobile police station each month there will now be a member of the Cotswold District Council staff travelling with the van to answer any queries relating to district council services. FOOTLIGHTS: Rehearsals for the next Willersey Footlights Show, scheduled for May 20 to 23, begin at the village hall next Friday. New members are always welcome and those interested should contact Neville Jelfs (859351) or the producer, Cathy Watts (852319).

CRAFT SHOW: It is intended that the marquee which will be erected at the village hall for the May show of the Footlights will also be made available for a craft show on Sunday, May 22. Paintings, flower arrangements, photographs, all crafts and hobbies may be exhibited. Any ideas and enquiries should be made to Neville Jelfs (858351) or Maurice Andrews (858448).

WEDNESDAY CLUB: The 2004 programme culminated in the Christmas lunch at the Puckrup Hall, Tewkesbury. The new programme started yesterday with a talk on the Serengeti, Africa by Ray Sturdy. The following meeting on January 26 will have as the speaker Mrs M Canning on An Unusual Job for a Lady. New members are welcome to join and to bring friends. Meetings are held at the village hall at 2.30pm on alternate Wednesdays.

BINGO: The successful Christmas bingo sessions, organised by Val Roberts and Jean Harris and the many helpers, raised £666 in aid of the village hall.

SENIOR CITIZENS' PARTY: The party was attended by around 80 of the village senior citizen residents. Food was followed by an entertainment including the village schoolchildren under the head, Fiona Armison, and carols and songs accompanied by David Griffiths on the piano. A vote of thanks was expressed on behalf of all by Maurice Andrews who commented that the Womens' Institute who every year provide this special treat, had to be congratulated on the high standard and friendly serving of the lunch.

TSUNAMI DISASTER APPEAL: A hastily arranged coffee morning at the village hall resulted in a record attendance and so far, with a few donations still to be received, more than £2,600 was raised. This was a combined effort by many organisations and residents from the village.
